Flashback one year: Tachi and Caitlin, camping the the West Virginia (USA) mountains, explore a bat cave and fall into a Portal. It ain't no Alice/rabbit hole, sweetie! |

Captured and enslaved by stingers, Tachi and Caitlin decide they really don't like ants. |
| Chapter 4 |
Our heroes escape the stinger Hive and live in mountain caves among the droichen. |
| Chapter 5 |
Now living among the sylphen in their forests, Tachi and Caitlin are bonded to their blood-trees. |
| Chapter 6 |
Sorcet shows up. The Gray Guild deru has come to see these odd creatures the droichen had sent word about. She thinks our heroes look strange. They think she drinks a lot. |
| Chapter 7 |
Deciding to live fast, die young, and leave good-looking corpses, Tachi and Caitlin agree to train as Sorcet's two taidar. |
| Chapter 8 |
En route to the human lands, we encounter an ambush, the first of several assassination attempts upon Tachi and Caitlin. "We are not warriors." "Very soon, you will be." |
| Chapter 9 |
Welcome to Iron Keep, and on down the road to Mangoon in the human lands. Meet Haptor, the local Grey Guild kaiphon. Tachi is disappointed to learn that the taverns are not filled with violent space-aliens and catchy music. |
| Chapter 10 |
Do you really need a driver's license to operate a bullock cart? Tachi undergoes Ranger Guild training. "Is my ear still attached?" |
| Chapter 11 |
How many crossbow bolts can a melon stop? Someone makes an assassination try on Caitlin. Caitlin is trained by the mysterious Shadow Guild - but you didn't hear it from us. |
| Chapter 12 |
Sorcet calls in Tachi and Caitlin and they embark upon their first mission, to close the Firestone Portal while making stingers beg for mercy. But first, they will need an army. Not a problem for a Gray Guild deru. |
| Chapter 13 |
On the road to Iron Keep, we learn more than is safe about Sorcet and her sword. Tachi longs for a good chainsaw. Caitlin longs for a good horse. |
| Chapter 14 |
At Iron Keep. Arrange for a small force of warriors to come along later. The resident Gray Guild kaiphon, Haptor, has vanished. Caitlin teaches table manners to a guard captain. Caitlin tells Tachi she is pregnant. Sorcet is teed off. |
| Chapter 15 |
Attacked by assassins. Our side wins (still got ten chapters to go, after all). Leave Iron Keep and head north into sylphen lands. |
| Chapter 16 |
Persuade Willow Band sylphen to permit the army to pass their lands. |
| Chapter 17 |
Oak Band sylphen will join the fight with archers. |
| Chapter 18 |
Clan GraniteAxe Deephome. Arrange with droichen to launch the attack from here. |

Back at Iron Keep assembling warriors. Tachi and Caitlin are married. |

Our army departs Iron Keep to deal with the stingers. |

On the road north with the army. Tachi has terrifying dreams about a giant stinger soldier and begins to weaken. |

Arrived back at the Clan GraniteAxe Deephome, assemble the army of human warriors, sylphen archers, droichen axe-men. |

Launch the attack into the stinger hive. Heavy fighting. Sorcet reveals that she would be great to have at a barbecue. |

The final battle. Tachi faces his dream-death. They locate the Firestone Portal. |
